GUKIRA

About Gukira

GUKIRA stands for Global Union for Knowledgeable Innovative Recovery & Aid. We’re a health-focused charitable initiative currently based in Ireland, with planned operations in Uganda, particularly in the Mityana district and its surrounding areas.

The Heart Behind Our Name

What’s special about our name is that beyond the acronym, ‘GUKIRA’ means ‘to recover’ in several East African languages like Kinyarwanda and Kirundi.

This makes it not only meaningful in the context of our mission but also deeply resonant with the communities we aim to serve. It reflects both our purpose and the people we are committed to supporting

Restoring ability, rebuilding lives.

Our main focus is to provide accessible and affordable rehabilitation services to underserved populations people who are often left behind due to financial constraints or geographical barriers.

Mission

To provide accessible and affordable rehabilitation services that restore mobility, independence, and quality of life for individuals affected by injury or disease in Uganda and surrounding regions.

Vision

A society where every person, regardless of income or location, has access to quality rehabilitation care that enables them to live a full and dignified life.
